Early Resignation Notification Program Available to Employees

The Early Notification of Resignation Stipend Program is an incentive program to encourage employees to notify the District as early as possible if they are planning to resign at the end of their contract/duty year.  Early knowledge of available openings for the school year allows effective staff planning and focused recruitment to meet staffing needs. Early hiring puts the District in a favorable position to compete for the best talent in hard to fill areas.

Conditions of the program include:
  1. The program is available to all full-time, regular employees. Temporary, interim, and part-time employees are not eligible for the Early Notification of Resignation Stipend Program.
  2. A signed letter of resignation must be received by February 16, 2018 to qualify for a $500.00 stipend.
  3. A signed letter of resignation must be received between February 17, 2018 and February 28, 2018 to qualify for a $300.00 stipend.
  4. The employee must work through the last day of his/her contract if a contractual employee.
  5. The employee must work through the end of his/her duty calendar if not on contract.
  6. The stipend will be paid on the July 1, 2018 paycheck.
  7. An employee receiving the resignation stipend must repay the stipend if they are re-hired into a full-time, regular position within 2 years of their last day worked for SBISD. Temporary, interim, and part-time employees are not eligible for the Early Notification of Resignation Stipend Program.
  8. A letter of resignation received prior to February, but which meets the above criteria will be eligible for the program.
The early notification resignation letter should accompany an employee’s signed and dated resignation letter.
