The 2016-17 year saw a lot of exciting and important work
begin as we launched our new strategic plan, The Learner’s Journey. Designed to
give us clear direction and priorities in our journey toward T-2-4, The
Learner’s Journey calls on us to provide students with an education that is
personalized to meet their respective gifts and needs, so that they may thrive
in whatever post-secondary path they choose. It also calls for a personalized
development experience for our staff, customized supports for our students,
staff, and communities, and a stable and efficient organizational structure to
support this work. It also establishes us as a District of Innovation,
providing us with additional freedoms and local control that have never been
available to traditional school districts before. We’re excited to have this
space to engage the whole SBISD team further in the work of the plan as we
continue along the path of The Learner’s Journey.
