BENEFIT ENROLLMENT BEGINS TODAY!

It’s time to shop for your benefits…  Health Insurance Enrollment begins TODAY!

IMPORTANT: Your current benefits will not roll over to the new plan year.
You must complete the benefit elections process even if you want to keep your benefits the same as they are now.
You must complete the benefit elections process even if you want to decline all benefits.

** NOTICE TO ACTIVECARE 3 PARTICIPANTS **
Beginning September 1, 2014, ActiveCare 3 will no longer be an option.  If you are currently enrolled in ActiveCare 3 you will need to choose another coverage option when you log in to THEbenefitsHUB and make your 2014-2015 elections.

Enrolling by August 20th will ensure your 2014-2015 deductions will begin on your September 1 paycheck.  Any changes made after August 20th will be reflected on your September 16 paycheck.

Changes to TRS-ActiveCare

New Insurance Carrier
Effective September 1, 2014, Aetna will be our new TRS-ActiveCare medical insurance provider.

Plan Options
There are some changes to the current ActiveCare 1-HD and ActiveCare 2 plans.  ActiveCare Select is a new plan for the 2014-2015 benefit year.

PLEASE NOTE: TRS-ActiveCare Select is a network-only plan similar to an HMO.
You are free to see any network provider without a referral; however, there is NO coverage if you see a provider who is not in the plan network.  The only exception to this would be for a true medical emergency.

Access the link to see a summary of the plan design changes.
(Keep in mind premiums shown on the Plan Highlights represent the full monthly premium before state and district contribution.)

The ActiveCare Select plan is the new plan option for 2014-2015.  This plan falls in between the ActiveCare 1-HD and ActiveCare 2 plans.  The provider network for the ActiveCare Select plan is smaller than the ActiveCare 2 provider network.  Please go to the Aetna website www.trsactivecareaetna.com to check for in-network providers included in each plan option.

TRS has provided the below link for information regarding the Aetna Provider Network.

Other Benefit Changes

Flexible Spending Account (FSA):
The Medical FSA will no longer have a grace period, but will have a rollover period instead.
Employees will only be able to make claims for expenses incurred from September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015.  Any money up to $500 remaining in an employee’s medical FSA account on August 31, 2015 will rollover into the 2015-2016 plan year.  Any amounts over $500 remaining in the account will be lost.  PLEASE NOTE:  If you have a medical FSA account in 2014-2015 and have money remaining in the account at the end of the plan year which is rolled over to the 2015-2016 plan year, you will not be able to enroll in an HSA account in 2015-2016.

Cancer:  Our cancer coverage will now be provided by Loyal American.  The new cancer plan is GUARANTEED ISSUE!  This means you can be covered on the plan no matter what your medical history!  (Pre-existing waiting period conditions may apply.)

Hospital Indemnity:  Our new hospital Indemnity provider is Allstate.  Employees will have two plan options for coverage with this new provider.

Legal Plan:  Our new legal plan provider is LegalEASE.  The basic legal plan now includes basic identity-theft coverage.  Employees will also have the option of purchasing an additional credit monitoring rider with the legal plan coverage.

Please see the 2014-2015 Health Benefits Guide for details regarding benefit coverage options.
