None of the changes mentioned below will affect your current benefits. We are sending you this information so that you will be aware of upcoming changes. Your current benefits will remain in effect through August 31, 2014.

No spring benefits enrollment
o There
will not be a spring enrollment as in past years. Open enrollment for the
2014-15 plan year will be held in August 2014. The decision to eliminate spring
enrollment was made by TRS Trustees.
·
New medical and prescription contractors
o In
February, TRS Trustees awarded a new health plan administrator contract for
TRS-ActiveCare to Aetna and a new pharmacy benefit manager contract for
TRS-ActiveCare to CVS Caremark. 2014-15 plan year rates and benefits will be
established by TRS Trustees at their June 5-6, 2014 meeting based on the claims
experience of the plan.
o More
details will be provided to TRS-ActiveCare participants before the new
contracts become effective on September 1, 2014. If negotiations between TRS
and Aetna fall through, TRS will begin negotiations with the runner-up for the
medical benefits contractor.

Summer informational meetings
o The
benefits department will host voluntary meetings this summer to provide more
detailed information about your 2014-15 benefit options. We will notify you of
meeting dates and times later this spring.

Possible new vendors for supplemental benefits
o The
benefits department is currently reviewing proposals for the following
benefits. new vendors may be selected for the 2014-15 plan year.
