Amended Academic Calendar for the 2013-14 School Year

At their Workshop Meeting, the Board of Trustees voted to approve an Amended Academic Calendar for the 2013-14 school year to address two recent bad weather days on January 24 and January 28.

Students will attend one additional school day under the amended calendar. Employees will need to add two additional days at the end of the year since we have already been paid for two days we did not work due to inclement weather. Thus, on the amended calendar, January 24 and 28 are reflected as holidays. Revised work calendars are being developed. 

Teachers will make up these two missed days as follows:

• Thursday, June 5, will now be a school day for students and teachers.
• Friday, June 6, will now be a Staff Development Day.
• Saturday, June 7, will now be Teacher Workday.

Principals will work with their faculty members with regards to these dates. Buildings will be open for the Saturday workday for any teachers who have not completed all required end- of-year check list items to close out their classrooms prior to Saturday, June 7.

Human Resources will send out additional communication in the days ahead regarding how all other employees will account for these days. Friday, April 18, and Monday, May 26, remain as student and staff holidays on the Amended Academic Calendar. Monday, February 17, remains a student holiday and a Teacher Staff Development/Flex Day.
